Provider Service Core

Main Technical Qualification Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of VoIP protocols: SIP and others 
  • Fundamental understanding of VoIP call flows and SIP services
  • Fundamental understanding of mobile networks architectures: 2G, 3G, IMS, LTE/VoLTE 
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP networks and protocols:TCP/UDP/IP
  • Understanding of and experience in TDM technology is considered a plus
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Linux OS
  • Good knowledge of protocol (SIP, RTP, MGCP) and packet analysis 
  • Experience in virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM)

Role Resposibilities

  • Installation and configuration of technical equipment and specialized software for enterprise and carrier grade voice solutions
  • Technical maintenance and support of core voice and data solutions implemented by Smartcom
  • Design, deploy, configure and test customer solutions end-to-end
  • Troubleshoot and document deployment/greenfield issues
  • Support lab infrastructure including upgrades, patching and issues reproduction
  • Interpret RFCs as they relate to issues
  • Provide subject matter expertise as required
  • Communicate on a project basis with solution partners and vendors
  • Document and communicate in detail all interactions with the customer 
  • Customer consulting and communication with partners for troubleshooting and tracking of technical issues
  • Develop configuration and maintenance procedures
  • Perform technical analysis and research of existing and future products and solutions
  • Collaboration with the team members on various deployment approaches, issues and challenges

Value Added

  • A thorough understanding and hands-on experience related to installing, configuration and maintenance of voice systems and equipment: SBC, gateways, IP Phones, IP-PBX, Skype for Business systems
  • Ability to understand and analyze Wireshark traces to identify SIP and other internetworking problems
  • Experience with carrier-grade voice and/or data systems (Radius/Diameter knowledge is a plus)
  • Bachelor degree in telecommunications or computer science
  • Experience with Linux OS system administration
  • Database (MySQL, Oracle or others) administration knowledge 
  • Understanding of and hands-on experience with network routing & switching
  • CCNA or other similar certificates
  • Driving license (B category)
